Chapter two

The sun bounced off the paint chipped buildings and the flowers grew quickly to cover cracks in the many ancient walls. Honeysuckle stung the air; sweet and heavy. Dressed in uniform she met Troy at the gangway.

“You look delicious.” He leered.

“Thanks?” Lace flushed; faintly regretting her decision to spend the day with him.

But she admitted he looked handsome in his brown linen shorts and Egyptian cotton shirt open just enough to vainly display his strong broad chest. He simply oozed sex.
They wandered through the crowded streets as morning fog peeled away to reveal the bustling city. Most of the day was spent listening to personal and professional conquests. Impressing himself the most, the tales seemed to become more outrageous as the day progressed. But there was something exotic and exciting about him. Money being no object and his willingness to spoil Lacie was intoxicating.

“What’s this for?” She asked when he clasped a beautiful silver chain around her throat.
“A warm quaint morning and a steamy afternoon” was his reply accompanied by a butterfly kiss to along the nape of her neck.
This was not a price she was willing to pay. When she gave it back, he waved her off only to try again by slipping his hand under her skirt at a café table.
“I don’t think you get me…” she insisted.
“I disagree. I will get you. I want to. I thought I made that clear.” He cooed while reaching across the table “for the salt” and grazing her breast.
She clucked prudishly and turned away. This only seemed to incite him to
flirt with other women; giving his number and usually a pinch on the rear. Lacie had to confess it stung. She wanted to think she was someone special to him not just someone.

In spite of his boorishness, her afternoon was fun and light. That seemed to be Troy’s specialty—keeping it fun and light. At the end of the day, he tried once more to get her to go to bed with him. His lips were tender and gentle. His body; firm, eager but she simply couldn’t allow herself to be fooled by his sensual promises. Although she considered it; entertained by the thought of getting lost in the sheets and her own passions, Lacie resisted with the knowledge that he was simply hunting. He failed and she returned to her cabin for a nap. Alone.
