God Bless Texas

The flight out was hilarious. From the man with the shower cap, allergy mask and endless supply of wipies that he used to touch everyone and everything or the woman who took our magazine thinking it belonged to the airline (we couldn't stop watching her. We wanted to ask for it back but she wasn't hurting the magazine. We were afraid she might tuck it into her bag and run off with it. We just stared at her while she read it then stole it back when she went to sleep) to the man who wanted to be upgraded to first class and wouldn't take no for an answer and simply stood in the aisle with his ticket glaring at the air witch. It was action packed and full of fun. Three hours worth. Yeeeeehaaaa.

We arrived and found our driver who shuffled us through rush hour. When we finally arrived, we checked in and found a cute little wine bar with the BEST bruschetta EVER! I can't wait to make it. We sauntered over to another bar and had samples of different Texas specialties and enjoyed the night.

So then on Saturday I did the unthinkable. I slept in. I KNOW! Then I went to the spa and took naps while people rubbed my achy bones. I had a wrap that was almost sexy it felt soooo good. Then a little reflexology, some hot stones and a trip to the sauna. Did I mention the mimosas? Well they were there too....(I had them put grapefruit juice in instead...orange is yucky) Being tired after all that hard work; I ate a little lunch and dozed by the pool. Texas is very flat and it was a bit breezy (you could see a storm from miles away!) but I toughed it out. I'm no quitter. ( I DO confess I missed my yayas terribly. This should have been a day for us. Soon my Lovely Cohorts...soon.)

We had a wonderful steak dinner (one of the best I've ever had) and listened to a local band play for a while. I had a dessert so big I could barely see across the table over it. It was drenched in peanut butter (as any proper dessert should be) AND pecan rum sauce. I don't know, there were brownies or cookies and ice cream and junk stuffed in there too but I only focused on the important stuff like the whipped cream.

Today was travel. It was long and I was ready to come home. We had an angry air witch who took my drink. She decided I'd had enough water I guess, then kept glaring at those of us who had to use the facilities....I don't know why she'd have that reaction: she is the one who gave out the stupid drinks from the party cart in the FIRST place. Geez!

I saw some beautiful water gardens and there were some fabulous amusement parks, water parks, golf courses...I'd have loved to stay and sample more. But I took a big bite and liked it. A lot.

Now it's back to the grind. The kids are tired after loving a weekend with their cousins.
A good time was had by all. I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Thanks for thinking to stop here and visit.
